Swiss flag

The flag: symbol of Switzerland

The Swiss flag is square and consists of two colors (red and white). The blood shed by the fighters is represented by the red background. They sacrificed themselves for their country in order to defend their freedom. The middle white cross symbolizes Confederate unity.

Independence, honor and loyalty are the three words that define the Swiss emblem. In fact, the idea comes from the motto of mercenaries dating from the eighteenth century. They had written on the white cross of their flag the following words: "Honor" and "Fidelitas" which means loyalty.
